Sheryl Einhardt trained in the Detroit Metropolitan area and has been teaching for over 40 years. Since 1990, she has owned and directed Dance Expressions Dance Studio. She is also the Executive Director of Allure Dance Company. Mrs. Einhardt is currently serving as Vice President of MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company. She has trained many students that have gone on to professional careers. Her students have been accepted and received scholarships to the Joffrey Ballet, ABT, Joel Hall, Complexions, The Collective, and Peter Sklar's Beginnings Workshop. She has also had many students receive scholarships to colleges such as Wayne State and Western University for dance.  Mrs. Einhardt is well known is the area for her work with couples and setting choreography for their weddings and events.  Sheryl has hosted master classes with Kirby Reed, Leah Howard from Tap Dogs, Leonard Sullivan from Hair Spray/High School Musical, Cierra Nichols toured with Drake, Bill Janisse from Jubilee and many others.  In 2008, she Choreographed a production of "Chicago" in Mt. Clemens, Michigan.  She is a wonderful and caring owner.  She truly loves each and every one of her students.

 
 
Shannon Einhardt is Co-Director of Dance Expressions and the Artistic Director of Allure Dance Company.  Ms. Einhardt graduated from Western Michigan University with a BA in dance in 2007.  She has been teaching for over 20 years and currently coaches our Award-Winning Competition Team. Shannon became co-founder of Allure Dance Company in 2010 and is also a dancer in the company.  She currently works with many local artists, choreographing and performing. Ms. Einhardt won the Maggie Allesee New Choreography Award in 2011 for her piece "Psychopathology".  Shannon taught at TCH Dance Academy in Birmingham for 8 years, before resigning in 2017. Ms. Einhardt also worked with the SCS figure skaters for five years. In 2008, she choreographed and performed in a production of "Chicago".  Continuing her work in Theater, she choreographed a local production of The Drowsy Chaperone.  Shannon was also a guest performer for MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company.  Shannon continues to attend many workshops across the country, including New York and Los Angeles, which keeps her up to date on all the new material.  She especially loves getting to bring her students along for the experience.  Shannon has a high energy teaching style and a true passion for dance and the arts.  

 
 
Susan Clayton has been on staff for over 25 years. She has danced with DDCdances since 1990. Past professional company work includes MoreDances Contemporary Dance Company, Harbinger Dance Company, Ballet Michigan, MI, Opus Dance Ensemble (NV), Dance & Company (Il).  Sue also spent eight years traveling while dancing in professional review shows, cruise ships and musicals in the United States, Asia, Europe and at sea.  Most noted dance position being in "Beyond Belief" at the Frontier Hotel and closing act in "Jubilee" at the MGM in Las Vegas, NV.  Sue was a full dance merit scholarship student at Giordano Dance Center for one year, studied Vaganova ballet teacher training through Nutmeg Ballet and at Lake Michigan College.  Sue is an active dance and yoga teacher in the community and is also a teaching artist at Novi High School. This season Sue is developing Holistic Ballet Yoga a class that combines yoga/ballet therapy and traditional ballet class for trained dancers. Certifications include YogaMedics, Sun Moon Yoga RYT 200, Common Sports Injury Specialist and Biomechanics of Human Movement though NESTA, EasyFlexibility Method, Sue is currently studying Progressing Ballet Technique certification course.
 
 
 
 
Jocelyn Phillips is in her eighth year of teaching at Dance Expressions. She teaches our mini to advanced levels in Pom, Hip Hop, Jazz, Tumbling and Tap. She is also one of our award-winning Competition Company Coaches.  Jocelyn continues to further her dance education by attending Master dance classes and workshops. She has trained at our studio for over 15 years in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical/Contemporary and Pom. Ms. Phillips has set choreography on many local dance teams and studios, including Grosse Pointe North, L'Anse Creuse North and most recently LA Dance. She joined Allure Dance Company in 2011 as an apprentice, becoming a full company member the following season.  In 2015, Jocelyn was brought on staff at The Civic Ice Arena teaching dance to the St. Clair Shores Figure Skating Club for a season. She has a high energy that fully motivates her dancers! She truly enjoys sharing her passion for dance with all of her students.
 
 
 
 


Candace Hamilton has been dancing in the Metro Detroit area for over twenty-five years.  She is well trained in jazz, tap, ballet, lyrical and hip-hop.  She has been a part of our Dance Expressions family for over twenty years.  Miss Candace has had the pleasure of teaching at our studio since 1999.  She currently teaches our Advanced and Intermediate Hip Hop and Lyrical Hip Hop Classes.  Candace has a unique style and nurturing personality that the students love.   Her creative hip hop dances are always a favorite in our shows.  She has taught many Master Hip Hop classes for our studio summer workshops.  Ms. Hawkins credits include teaching dance to the blind. She made her Chicago debut, dancing in the MidTangent production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream".  Candace has an associate’s degree from Macomb Community College (MCC) and a Bachelor's Degree in social work.  Candace has a natural and unique style, that allows her students to feel comfortable and have fun finding their own flow.
 
 
 
 
 
Gabby Heabeart joined our faculty in 2019, and began coaching our competition team soon in 2021. She grew up dancing at our studio, beginning her dance career at the age of 5. She studied ballet, pointe, tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, pom, and hip-hop, dancing competitively throughout high school. After graduating in 2015, Gabby attended Wayne State University where she majored in Dance. In 2019, Ms. Heabeart received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance. She is currently finished her last year of graduate school and will be receiving her Masters of Arts degree in Teaching Artistry with a focus in Dance. Gabby has also enjoyed performing in many local shows and events.  Gabby loves spreading her love for ballet with her students, and finds inspiration in watching them grow and learn! Gabby is a very caring and compassionate teacher; the students love how open they can be in her classes.
